The EB-5 program is the fifth priority category of employment base immigration established by the U.S. government in the immigration law in 1990 for overseas investment immigrants, referred to as "EB-5". The purpose is to encourage overseas investors to obtain permanent residence in the United States through investment. It is a convenient channel with the least restrictive application qualifications among all immigration categories in the United States.

In a designated Targeted Employment Area (TEA) (rural area, or an area with an unemployment rate of 50% or more of the national average): Investment of USD $800,000; OR
* In any other area in the U.S.: Investment of USD $1,050,000
* Upon completion of the investment, a Conditional Green Card will be granted (valid for 2 years); after two years, one may apply for a 10-year Unconditional Green Card.
* Visa Validity: 10 years
* Application Processing Time: 10–24 months
* Accompanying Dependents: Spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old
