Overview
This policy statement explains the general practices of AIMS Immigration Specialist (HK) Limited (“AIMS” or “we”) regarding the handling of personal data on this website. Please note that this policy may be updated from time to time, and any such changes will become effective upon posting on this website.

The term “personal data” used in this Policy Statement has the meaning given to it in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap. 486 of the laws of Hong Kong (“the Ordinance”).

Our management, officers, and staff are required to maintain the confidentiality and proper storage of all personal data collected, stored, transmitted, and/or used by us (or on our behalf) at all times.

We strive to ensure compliance with the responsibilities and requirements under the Ordinance throughout the collection, storage, transmission, and use of personal data.

If an individual lawfully requests access to or correction of personal data held about themselves, we will provide and/or correct the relevant data in accordance with the prescribed timeframes and procedures set out in the Ordinance.
Collection and Use of Personal Data

You may be asked to provide personal data for purposes related to the services provided by this website. Without such data, we may not be able to fulfill your service requests. Types of information that may be collected include (but are not limited to):

Retention of Personal Data
We retain your personal data in accordance with our internal retention policy:

(a) Personal data is retained until the original purpose of collection—or any directly related purpose—has been fulfilled, unless retention is required by law or contract; and

(b) Based on the above criteria and our internal procedures, personal data will be deleted from our electronic, manual, and other storage systems after a specified period.

Physical records containing personal data are accessible only by designated senior officers or employees, who must handle such data in accordance with this privacy policy and the Ordinance.

Electronic data is stored in computer systems and media with restricted access, and/or in controlled areas.

Any access to records and data is strictly limited to authorized personnel only.

We may use encryption technologies such as SSL to protect personal data collected online during transmission.
Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Data
Except as expressly stated below, all personal data held by us will be kept confidential. However, data may be disclosed when necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or a directly related purpose, to the following parties:

When necessary and/or prudent, we may transfer some personal data outside Hong Kong to achieve the purpose for which data has been collected, or a directly related purpose. Any transfer will comply with the requirements of the Ordinance.
Access and Correction of Personal Data
You have the right to request access to and correction of personal data held by us. If you wish to obtain a copy of your data, believe the data held is incorrect, or consider that your personal data has been used beyond the stated purposes, gained by fraud or unlawful means, or disclosed to a third party without your prior consent, please write to us.

Requests for correction can be made by:
(a) Writing to us by post, clearly stating the incorrect data, reasons for its inaccuracy, and the correct information; and
(b) Providing “proof of identity” to confirm your right to make the correction request.
(c) You may also correct your personal data via this website.

We will seek to comply with such requests after verifying their authenticity and validity, and will respond within the timeframe prescribed by the Ordinance.

A reasonable fee may be charged for processing any access request.
