Entrepreneur visa (IAE)

If foreigners invest in Hong Kong as entrepreneurs, whether they establish a company or participate in commercial business, they must hold a work visa issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department.

Application requirement :

* Good educational background

* Applicants must nominate a local guarantor (individual/company)

* Make a significant contribution to Hong Kong's economy

* Must not have criminal record or bad immigration record

Anyone who meets the above requirements can apply.

AIMS Service Process

1. Make preliminary inquiries to AIMS and understand the content of the title
2. Sign a service agreement with AIMS, pay the service fee, and collect various documents from the applicant.

4. Draft and implement business plan
5. AIMS will submit the application to the Immigration Department on your behalf and obtain the file number.
6. After being approved, AIMS will apply for the electronic visa of "Entry Authorization" from the Immigration Department on your behalf; and come to Hong Kong to apply for a Hong Kong Resident Identity Card.

What factors are considered when granting a visa/entry permit for entrepreneurs to invest in Hong Kong?

The applicant can make a significant contribution to the local economy. Various factors will be considered, including (but not limited to) business plan, turnover, financial resources, investment amount, number of jobs created locally, and the introduction of new technologies or skills, etc. .

If applicants want to start or participate in start-up projects in Hong Kong, will the Hong Kong government provide support?

Yes, if a start-up business wants to receive support from government support programs, it must go through a strict review mechanism and selection process. Examples of government support programs include:

1.) Invest Hong Kong Startmeup HK Entrepreneurship Program;

2.) Various incubation programs of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, including Internet Technology Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Incubation Program and Technology Entrepreneurship Incubation Program;

3.) Cyberport Incubation Program;

4.) Innovation and Technology Commission Enterprise Support Program; and

5.) Hong Kong Design Centre Design Entrepreneurship Incubation Program.
